Painting an umbrella for the Arts Council auction in April 2026!

Did a lovely umbrella last year, now doing a new one.

In a Night in Provence, my first invitation to paint an umbrella for the Arts Council of Kern, I chose a lemon theme in honor of my late husband, David. He had a special love for citrus, often picking and giving it out to those in need or homeless people we met along the way.

I included lavender, too-since we spent cherished moments at lavender farms. I even scented the paint with lemon essential oil, so the umbrella smelled like lemon when you sat beneath it.

This year, I’m working on an olive-themed umbrella for A Night in Tuscany. Olives are a nod to both Tuscany and my heritage-where olives, or Zaytoun, symbolize life.
